Privacy Policy for Twiffel

Effective date: 25 August 2026

1. Who we are

Twiffel is published by U-Things, an independent app studio. This policy describes how the Twiffel iOS and Android app handles your information.

If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at contact@u-things.com.

2. The short version

  • We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifier.
  • We do not create accounts or user profiles.
  • Your decision text is sent only to generate an analysis, and we do not store it on our servers.
  • We collect only anonymous, aggregate usage counts (not linked to you).
  • Twiffel asks only for the network access it needs to work. It does not request camera, location, contacts, or similar extra permissions.
  • We do not sell data. We do not run ads. We do not share data with third-party marketers.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Decision text

When you ask Twiffel to analyze a choice, the app sends your two options, the main point you asked it to weigh, and your preferred timing to our AI backend, solely to produce that analysis. We do not log that text at the Worker, and we do not keep a copy on our servers after the response is returned. The analysis stays in the app until you leave it or start over. We recommend not entering sensitive personal information as option text.

3.2 Settings and license counter (local only)

Twiffel stores a few preferences on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences on Android, NSUserDefaults on iOS): theme, text size, whether first-launch onboarding is complete, and a single integer used for the optional license reminder. These values contain no decision text and no personal data. They never leave your device.

3.3 PDF reports

If you share a report, Twiffel builds a PDF on your device. That file leaves the device only if you choose a share target in the system share sheet (for example Mail or Files). We do not receive a copy.

3.4 Anonymous aggregate analytics

We capture a small number of anonymous event counts to understand how the app is used at a product level. Each event record contains only:

  • An event name from a closed list: route_view, generate_request, buy_intent, bail_out.
  • A coarse platform label: android, ios, or other.

No decision text, no device identifiers, no IP address, no user identifier, and no personal data of any kind is included in these events. Collection is best-effort: if it fails (offline, network error), the event is silently dropped and the app continues normally.

Events are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, a privacy-preserving aggregate analytics product. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details of their data handling.

4. AI processing

When you submit a comparison, the decision text is sent over HTTPS to a Cloudflare Worker operated by U-Things, which forwards it to xAI (the company behind the Grok AI model) to generate the analysis. The request is not logged at the Worker level. xAI may process the text according to their own terms and privacy policy. See xAI's Privacy Policy. If the request fails, Twiffel shows an error and does not keep a partial analysis on our servers.

5. In-app purchases

If you choose to purchase a Twiffel license, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not process payments ourselves and do not receive your payment card details.

Purchase validation uses RevenueCat, a third-party service that receives a purchase receipt token (no personally identifying data is sent by us). See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

6. Children

Twiffel does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). The app does not collect personal data from any user, making it broadly safe for all ages; however, it is not specifically directed at children.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because we do not store personal data or decision text on our servers, there is nothing to delete there. Settings and the license reminder counter on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the app. PDFs you already shared live wherever you sent them. Aggregate analytics records are not linked to you and cannot be individually deleted.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations you have rights regarding your personal data. Since Twiffel does not collect or store personal data, most requests of this nature do not apply. If you have a privacy concern or question, contact us at contact@u-things.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If we materially change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice through the app. Continued use of Twiffel after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
